Pragati Pratishthan is a registered NGO working in the area of education and rural development since 1972. The organisation was started with a rehabilitation project in slums of Thane. Decent houses for slum dwellers along with water and sanitation facilities were provided by the organisation.
In rural parts of Thane District, Pragati Pratishthan started its work by providing medical services. High child mortality rate was one of the reasons behind it and measures to bring it under control was area of our focus.
Over a period of time, the scope of work was expanded in the areas of Education, Watershed Management, Women Empowerment, Energy, Employment, Food and Nutrition Program for children, Agriculture etc. Thanks to members of managing committee, social workers and employees, many projects have been successfully handled and implemented. At the same time we are grateful to the guidance, cooperation and monetary support given by members of the society.
